Welcome to Equine Integrative Therapy
At Equine Integrative Therapy, we believe in the healing power of horses. Our unique approach combines traditional therapy with the gentle presence of our equine partners to provide a holistic experience for our clients.
I integrate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles with equine-assisted activities to support social, emotional, and behavioral growth. Through structured interactions such as grooming, riding, leading, and turn-taking with horses, clients practice communication, self-regulation, following directions, and independent living skills. The therapy setting naturally promotes motivation, engagement, and generalization of skills, while fostering confidence, responsibility, and trust.
About me:
Johnny Szabo is a Student Analyst currently completing his supervision hours toward the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam. He has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for over four years as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and advocate, supporting children, families, and schools with evidence-based interventions. Johnny integrates his ABA expertise with equine-assisted therapy, using structured horse activities such as grooming, riding, and leading to strengthen communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and independence. In addition to his clinical practice, Johnny is pursuing his PhD in Forensic Psychology, where his research and training focus on family systems, behavioral health, and psychological well-being. His dual background in ABA and psychology allows him to provide unique, compassionate, and effective therapeutic experiences for his clients.
The sessions are avaliable at Csatar Acres, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located on 10 acres of ranch land in Myakka City, Florida. The program combines therapeutic and recreational horseback riding, with proceeds from recreation supporting therapy services. At Csatar Acres, clients not only ride but also learn to care for retired, gentle therapy horses—building responsibility, confidence, and emotional connection while advancing social, developmental, and behavioral growth.
